when i finished tom's story and mike 6th story hadn't released yet, i change route to McHenry story. i was surprised when i started McHenry story at chapter 6 ( i remember i had played his story and change to matthew story before i finished it).
So no problem if you changed route before finished the one that you played. it won't reset your current progress.
